After a week of travelling, Amy and I decided we deserved a break from our backpacks and checked in to Bahay Kalipay: a yoga, meditation and raw food retreat in Puerto Princesa in Palawan.
It’s been over two weeks since I left the comforts of home and started my travelling adventures. My first week in Japan was spent exploring the beautiful sights, absorbing the unique culture and, of course, devouring the most delicious and authentic Japanese food.
In three days’ time I will have left my job, packed my bags and will be on my way to Tokyo to start a 10-week adventure. I couldn’t be more excited!
This time last year, I had recently started the FODMAP diet and was seriously struggling – daunted by the never-ending list of banned foods and frustrated by the difficulty of eating out. One of the things I miss most about student life and my pre-FODMAP days is rolling out of bed midday any day of the week feeling somewhat fragile and trying to piece together the night before. The realisation then hits that the only way of ever feeling normal again is by ordering a large Domino’s pizza with all the sides, extra dips and ice cream.
I am a self-confessed peanut butter nutter as you may already know from several odes to peanut butter throughout my blog (here, here and here). The one thing that beats peanut butter straight from the jar is when it’s paired with its number one partner in crime – chocolate.
